In the year 2012 Lenovo entered the telecom sector and by the year 2015 it was one of the largest smartphone vendors in China. Lenovo has a wide range of Smartphones and in September 2017, Lenovo launched its Lenovo K8 Plus. Lenovo already has a device in the k8 series called lenovo k8 note. Looks & Design

The front face of the device has a 5.2 inches IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen. The device has an 8MP secondary camera along with the LED flash, proximity sensor and earpiece above the display. There are capacitive buttons below the display. There is a dual camera setup along with the LED flash on the back. The volume buttons and power buttons are placed on the right of the device. The SIM tray and a dedicated music button are placed on the left of the device. The micro USB charging port and main speakers along with the main microphone are placed at the bottom of the device. And the 3.5 mm headphone jack is placed at the top of the device. The dedicated music button can be mapped to launch any app. 

Display & Resolution

Lenovo k8 plus has a 5.2 inches full HD IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen, which produces up to 16 M colours. The device has a resolution of 1080 X 1920 pixels. It also has a pixel density of 424 ppi. The device also has the protection of Corning Gorilla Glass 3, which makes it resistant to scratches and increases the durability of the display. The display of the device is pretty good and there shouldn't be any problems with the display. 

Performance & Battery

The device has MediaTek Helio P25 chipset, which is an Octa Core processor. The device has Mali T880 MP2 GPU. The device is powered with Android Nougat (7.1.1). The device also has 3 GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. Storage of the device can be increased up to 128 GB and the company has provided a dedicated Micro SD card for the same. The processor and the GPU of the device are not so great, so the user might face some noticeable lags.

According to Lenovo, battery is the USP of the device. The device has a non-removable Li-Po 4000m mAh battery. The battery life of the device is expected to be very good and it should last anywhere between one to one and a half day on moderate usage. The device should also give the screen-on time of at least 7 to 8 hours. The device has a big battery but it does not support fast charging; which is a drawback. 


Lenovo K8 Plus has a rear dual camera setup with a dual tone LED flash. One of the rear camera is a 13 MP sensor and the other one is a 5 MP depth sensor. Both the cameras have f/2.0 aperture. According to the company, the device should capture very good pictures with the depth of field effect and should do a decent job while capturing pictures in low light conditions. The device has phase detection autofocus, which would be helpful in focusing. The rear camera can record video at full HD resolution, but not at 4K resolution. The device has a standard 8-megapixel selfie camera, with LED flash; which should do a decent job. 

Network & Connectivity

Lenovo K8 plus requires Nano SIM to be installed and it is a dual sim device. Lenovo K8 Plus also has Bluetooth, FM radio and USB on the go as connectivity. The user can connect flash drives and other USB accessories, thanks to the USB on the go feature. 


Similar to most of the Lenovo devices, this device also has Dolby Atmos sound enhancement. So, the sound output through main speakers and the headphone jack is expected to be excellent. The device also has TheaterMax Technology, which means watching videos or playing games on this device should also be excellent. The device has an inbuilt photo and video viewer. The device also has an inbuilt Document Viewer. 

Suggestto Verdict

Lenovo k8 Plus is not a great device. The only thing unique about this device is its battery size, as it is the biggest battery in this price range. Apart from this, there are many devices which of a better specification, just by adding a few thousand bucks extra.
