Everyone on this planet might have heard of this technology company called Google. Google, which was founded in 1998, is an American technology company, which specialises in different production services across the technology segment. From the year 2010 to 2015, Google partnered with major electronics manufacturers and released a bunch of Nexus devices. And in the month of October 2016, Google announced two new smartphones called Google pixel which was an excellent phone in terms of performance but was very expensive at the same time. People eagerly waiting for Google Pixel 2, as its predecessor were a huge hit in terms of performance. So, after months of waiting and speculations, finally, on 5th of October 2017, Google announced the successors to Pixel phone called Google Pixel 2. Google Pixel 2 is available in 64 GB and 128 GB internal storage options with 4 GB RAM. The 64 GB internal storage device is priced at Rs. 61000, where are you would have to spend Rs. 70000 for a 128 GB internal storage device. Similar to its predecessor, Google Pixel 2 should also have one of the best cameras in the Telecom industry. Would Google Pixel 2 be able to stand up to its expectations? Let's find out!

Looks & Design

Not a lot has changed in terms of Looks off the device.  One of the few things that you would notice is that there is no 3.5 mm headphone jack on the device and there are front-facing stereo speakers. The front face of the device has a 5 inches AMOLED capacitive touchscreen. It also has an earpiece, proximity sensor and an 8 MP front camera above the display. The primary 12.2 MP camera with dual LED flash and fingerprint sensor are placed on the back of the device. The volume buttons and power buttons are placed on the right side of the device. The type C charging port is placed below the device. And the SIM card tray is placed on the left of the device. This phone is available in three colours which are called Kinda Blue, Just Black & Clearly White. Even though the device does not have a 3.5 mm headphone jack, the box of the phone will contain type C to 3.5 mm adaptor so that you can use your old headphones as well. 

Display & Resolution

Google Pixel 2 has a full HD 5 inches AMOLED capacitive touchscreen, which produces up to 16 m colours. This device has a resolution of 1080 X 1920 pixels. It also has a pixel density of 441 pixels per inch. The device has 16:9 aspect ratio. The device has a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection which makes it resistant to scratches and increases the lifespan of the display. The device also has IP67 certification, which means the device is dust resistant and water resistant up to 1 meter and 30 minutes. 

Battery & Performance

Google pixel 2 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset which is an Octa-Core processor. The device has Adreno 540 GPU. And it comes with the latest operating system, Android Oreo (8.0) out of the box. The device has 4 GB RAM and 64 or 128 GB internal storage. And we already know the performance of pixel devices is excellent. So with good RAM management, this device can run even the heaviest of the games and heaviest of the apps without any lags.

Google pixel 2 is powered by a non-removable Li-ion 2700 mAh battery. The device has excellent RAM management and it also supports fast charging. Pixel devices are also known for its battery life. So, the battery life of the device is expected to be of the same level. 

Camera

Google plans to offer the best smartphone camera on the new devices as well, as it did in the past. The device has at 12.2 MP sensor with a f/1.8 aperture as the primary camera. It also has a dual-tone LED flash. The device has Optical Image Stabilization as well as Electronic Image Stabilization. It also has phase detection autofocus and Laser autofocus. The device can record videos up to 4K resolution. The secondary camera on the device is an 8 MP sensor with f/2.4 aperture. The secondary camera can also record videos up to 1080 p resolution. One of the unique features of the camera of this device is it has the ability to click pictures in portrait mode with primary as well as the secondary camera. The device does not have a dual camera setup tell it can offer portrait mode, based only on its software. And The Portrait mode pictures of the device it's one of the best performing portrait mode cameras. On paper, the camera of the device can be rated at 9.5/10.

Network & Connectivity

The device supports 4G connectivity and requires Nano SIM to be installed. However, this phone can also work without a sim and it's called as an e-SIM. How an e-SIM is quite not clear yet, but we will figure it out as soon as the device hits the market. The device has Bluetooth & NFC as connectivity. 

Multimedia

The device has an inbuilt picture viewer and editor. It also has an inbuilt Document Viewer. The device now has stereo speakers and the output through the speakers is expected to be very good, so watching movies, videos, listening to music, would be quite a delight. 

Suggestto Verdict

A lot has changed from its previous pixel devices to the new pixel devices. The device is expected to take the Telecom industry by a storm. This would be the first device to offer portrait mode without having a dual camera setup. The accuracy and the speed of the fingerprint sensor have improved. The only major concern about the device is its price. It is quite overpriced. And if you compare it with US versions, the device is overpriced by approximately 20000-25000. So, if budget is not a problem then you should definitely go ahead with this phone. This is one of the best flagships ever announced.
