Xiaomi is a Chinese electronics and a software company. As of 2017, Xiaomi is the world's fifth largest smartphone manufacturer. In the month of July of the Year 2014, Xiaomi debuted in the Indian market with their first smartphone. Since then, Indian consumers have welcomed Xiaomi with open arms. Today, Xiaomi is one of the highest selling Smartphone manufacturers in India. In the month of September 2017, Xiaomi announced its flagship phone in collaboration with Google called Xiaomi Mi A1. The device has 4 GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage; the device also supports external storage up to 128 GB. The device is priced at Rs. 14,999 in India. Let's check out its specifications!

Looks & Design

The device resembles iPhone 7 plus or Oneplus 5 from the back, as the position of the dual camera setup is exactly the same. The device has a metallic back. The back of the device has a dual camera setup with dual tone LED flash on the left-hand side corner of the device. In the center of the device, it has a rear mounted fingerprint sensor. The front of the device has a 5.5 LTPS IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen. Along with the display the front face also has 5 MP secondary camera, earpiece and the proximity sensor. And at the bottom, it has the MI logo. At the top of the device, there is an IR blaster along with the secondary noise-canceling microphone. The IR blaster can be used as a remote control for various devices such as air conditioners, television etc. The power button and the volume buttons are placed on the right side of the device. At the bottom of the device, there is a 3.5 mm headphone jack, a type C charging port and the main speakers for the device. The same trace placed on the left side of the device. Display & Resolution

Xiaomi Mi A1 has a 5.5 inch full HD LTPS IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen which can produce up to 16 M colours. So, the pictures production, colour production and screen quality is going to be good. The resolution of the device is 1080 X 1920 pixels and it has a pixel density of 403 ppi. The device also has Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection which means the device is resistant to scratches and is more durable. The brightness sensor is very responsive and is easily visible in direct sunlight. The display and resolution of the device can be rated at 8/10.

Performance & Battery

Xiaomi MI A1 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset, which is an Octa Core processor. The GPU on the device is Adreno 506. The device is also powered with a 4 GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage. An external micro SD card can be installed in the SIM 2 slot which can support of 2 128 GB SD card. The device should not face any lag whatsoever; even while handling heavy games and heavy apps, thanks to the hardware configuration of the device. The device also comes with Android Nougat OS (7.1.2) which is different because earlier MI devices used to come with MI OS. Since this device has android OS, the operating system updates would be delivered much faster. The fingerprint sensor on the device is quite responsive.

The device is packed with non-removable Li-ion 3080 mAh battery. So with proper Ram management, the battery life should last a typical working day on moderate usage. And the battery should give you a proper 5 to 6 hours of screen-on time. Xiaomi MI A1 also supports fast charging, so charging the device even when you are in a hurry should not be a problem. The dual camera setup of the device is similar to the setup of Oneplus 5 or iPhone 7 plus; where one out of the two cameras is a standard lens and the other one is a telephoto lens. The telephoto lens can be used to capture pictures with the depth of field effect. The device also has a 2X optical zoom. Both the cameras on the dual camera setup have a 12 MP sensor. The standard lens has f/2.2 aperture whereas the telephoto lens has a f/2.6 aperture. The device also has phase detection autofocus and dual tone LED flash. So, capturing pictures in low lighting conditions or focusing the pictures should not be an issue. The device can also record videos at 4K resolution. The secondary camera on the device is a 5 MP selfie camera. The secondary camera can record video at full HD resolution.  The pictures captured by the device would be clear and sharp, whether it's from the rear camera or from the front camera. The device supports 4G and it requires Nano SIMS to be installed. Xiaomi has always been a budget phone which provides decent specifications in a decent budget, you can also say that the pricing of the Xiaomi devices is comparatively better than its counterparts with similar specifications. Xiaomi MI A1, which is collaboration between Xiaomi and Google, is also a similar device which ha a decent specification in a decent price.
